Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

Partovin (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by [Registered business name] (ABN [ABN]). We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

  • Account and contact details – name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery addresses, and your password (stored in hashed form).
  • Order information – the products you buy, order history, delivery preferences and communications about your orders.
  • Vehicle information – vehicles you save in My Garage or select in the Vehicle Finder (for example make, model, year, engine and, where you choose to provide it, registration or VIN) so we can show parts that fit.
  • Payment information – payments are processed by our payment providers. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Trade account information – business name, ABN and trading references, if you apply for a trade account.
  • Technical information – IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed and cookie identifiers (see our Cookie Policy).
  • Communications – messages you send us by email, phone or support tickets.

2. How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you when you create an account, place an order, request a quote, contact us or subscribe to our updates; automatically through cookies and similar technologies when you use our website; and from third parties such as payment providers, couriers and vehicle data providers when needed to complete your order.

3. Why we use your information

  • To process and deliver your orders, handle returns, warranty claims and payments.
  • To identify the right parts for your vehicle and remember your garage.
  • To manage your account, trade pricing, quotes and credit terms.
  • To provide customer support and respond to enquiries.
  • To prevent fraud, secure our website and meet legal and tax obligations.
  • To improve our website, products and services, and – with your consent where required – to send you marketing.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run the business, and only to the extent needed: payment processors, couriers and freight carriers, website hosting and security providers, email delivery services, analytics providers, accountants and professional advisers. We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law.

Some providers are located outside Australia (for example in New Zealand, the United States or the European Union). Where we disclose information overseas we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it consistently with the APPs.

5. Direct marketing

We will send marketing emails or SMS only in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Every message includes an unsubscribe option, and you can opt out at any time from your account settings or by contacting us. Order and service messages (such as delivery updates) are not marketing and will still be sent.

6. Security and retention

We use technical and organisational safeguards such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and regular updates to protect your information. We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law (for example, tax records are kept for at least five years). When it is no longer needed we delete or de-identify it.

7. Access, correction and deletion

You may ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. You can update most details yourself from your account, or contact us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Complaints

If you think we have breached the APPs, please contact us first and we will investigate and reply promptly. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always available on this page, with the date above.
